GhostBSD 24.01.1 Released, See Whats New ?

 

GhostBSD is a user-friendly desktop operating system based on FreeBSD. Its default desktop is MATE, but a separate community edition with Xfce is available too. It also features a selection of commonly used software, a rolling-release development model, and a bootable live image with an intuitive graphical system installer.

GhostBSD is a desktop-oriented operating system based on FreeBSD. The project's latest release, GhostBSD 24.01.1, is based on FreeBSD 14-STABLE and changes the way the root and first users are handled at install time.

23.10.1 Changelog

This new release is based on FreeBSD 14.0-STABLE. Update Station got a significant change to upgrade to a major FreeBSD version, allowing upgrading GhostBSD from 13.2-STABLE to 14.0-STABLE. Also, a major change to the installer is the user created is an admin, and the root user gets the same password as the admin. If the admin password is changed after the installation, the root password will not change.
